Our bus tour and screening are confirmed! You will be able to tour Liverpool’s Light Night, this Friday, the 14th of May, on our Under the Mud bus, and get shuttled around the gallery hotspots while being entertained by our cast and crew! You’ll also be able to see our film for free, which will be playing on a loop from 6pm in 3345 Parr Street, located at 33-45 Parr St, L1 4JN.

We’re going to be running a circuit of the city from 6-10pm on Light Night, the event organised once a year by Open Culture in which several of Liverpool’s cultural hotspots stay open for the evening and host special events.

We’ll be starting outside Liverpool Central Library on William Brown Street, moving on to Rockscape on Renshaw Street (also a short walk from FACT and St Luke’s), then going up to the JMU School of Art & Design on Brownlow Hill and down to the Albert Dock.

So if you want a lift around Night Light, and want to meet the cast and crew of Under the Mud, hop on the bus! Stars Lenny Wood and Mick Colligan will be in attendance, as will director Sol Papadopoulos and producer Roy Boulter (formerly of pop group The Farm). There will be laughs, songs and dances along the way, and the final bus pickup from the Albert Dock will take you to a late-night screening of Under the Mud (location TBC).

Thanks to everyone who came out on Saturday to our Under the Mud bus day event at Liverpool One. Songs were sang, autographed posters were handed out and there was free face-painting for kids (and for some of our “Mud” team!)

We got to meet lots of lovely people as we spread the message about our film. BBC Radio Merseyside was there to interview our cast and writers for the Billy Butler show, and we’ll be putting excerpts from the show online. Ready for a day out? Our Under the Mud bus will be parking all day Saturday, right in the middle of Liverpool One!

Our beautiful No.86 will be sitting in the space between Waterstones and John Lewis, and we’ll be there with it, ready for a day full of fun. Radio Merseyside will be broadcasting us live from 10 am, interviewing the Mud team and any members of the public who are lucky enough to be there witnessing all our hoopla. Throughout the day there will be cast and crew members greeting passersby, having their pictures taken and signing posters of Under the Mud. We’ll also be publicising our film in the spirit in which it was made, taking along our video camera and asking you the public to share your best stories and memories of Liverpool with the world.

The Under the Mud bus wrap has been completed, and we’re on the number 86 running from the city centre to Garston.

As you can see, it’s looking fantastic, so thanks to all the supporters of the film for helping us get to this point. We knew this would help get the word out in style, but seeing the end product has taken our breath away.

There’s been a fair bit more amazing Under The Mud news recently too – we got a great review in the Independent which we’ve listed on the new reviews page of our website.

It really is all systems go on release day: there’s a piece about us due in Liverpool Echo this week, and Roy Boulter (Producer), Adam Bailey (”Karl Potts”) and Mick Colligan (writer /”DJ Worm”) have been interviewed for Radio Four’s Upfront show to be broadcast tonight at 17.55.

Ricky’s always been a big supporter of the film, first meeting the writers at a London film event, when the script was still being written. Ricky’s delighted that the film is finally being released on DVD – and said how much he enjoyed watching the film again. He also loved the extras DVD, which he hadn’t seen before.

Zac and Roy

Just a quick shout-out to you with some exciting Under The Mud news – the film’s producer Roy Boulter (pictured with High School Musical star Zac Efron!) is going to be guest on a couple of radio shows talking about Under The Mud.

The day before the film’s release, Sunday 1st November, he’ll be chatting to Pete Price on his show, which’ll be broadcast across sister stations City Talk 105.9 and Radio City 96.7.

On the release day itself (Monday 2nd November) he’ll be on City Talk’s Take 5 show, choosing some of his favourite records.
